How Long After Arrest Can State Of Pa File Charges?
I was arrested at a dui checkpoint in pa for duid (not alcohol) and possession of marijuana – all misdemeanors. This was on March 16th. I was told I’d hear from the magistrate within two weeks. It has now been a month and there is not even a filing of the arrest on any public records site I can find. Is there a speedy trial limitation for charges to be filed? I know in Florida, if charges aren’t filed around a month after arrest (32 days I think), all charges get dismissed. Is this the case in pa as well?
